Routine
As my alarm starts buzzing, I snooze it and wrap myself again in my quilt, giving an excuse of bunking today and going for my exercise tomorrow. Just when i start to enjoy my nap again, the pressure of workplace and household chores starts haunting my mind. I wake up with a jerk and spend the rest of the day playing “catch up”. By the end of the day , the feeling of left behind , along with pressures of meeting expectations as a child, spouse, parent, friend, working professional etc becomes a wild ride , which is sometimes smooth and mostly hard and ugly. So i pick my loaded self and start again next morning, only to realise that yet another day of my life has gone by.
Realisation
Seasons come and change the time year after year. Time keeps flying. Along with the clock, my life keeps ticking away and , here I am , watching my life spinning inside a hamster wheel, piled up with demanding circumstances and self-induced pressures, for I kept arranging & rearranging my life every now and then by giving birth to new desires and , at the same time, forgetting the true essence of life. Being Joyful, being happy, being peaceful and above all , being Alive because my life is not permanent. It is for a brief period of time.
Coming out of Spinning Hamster Wheel
So, the next day , when me and you get up , rather than practising postures for our grave and spending rest of the day playing “catch up”, let us take a pause. Life is much more than being a top brass. Family, money, career, country. They are my identity , just because I am alive. The day I exhale my last, all of them would have gone. So let us give ourselves a big smile for you and I are still alive. Let us gift ourselves beautiful early mornings which are close to nature. Go for a long walk, take a deep breath, feel the nature, work out and meditate for a healthy body and mind, pick up your wish list, travel the world, sing a song, go and learn your favourite dance, hold your camera and create beautiful memories, extend one act of kindness towards the world daily, call up an old friend, express your love and gratitude to all who make your life’s journey easy, but above all this, make a choice – between having a day full of pressure or living a day full of passion.
“ Having a life “ and “ living life” are two different sides of the same coin. Make a choice everyday as to which side represents you. Replace Routine with Renovation. Replace stress with smile. Replace ‘Am I Alive?’ with ‘I am exuberating Alive’.
